Linda Nanuwil continues to be an elusive butterfly but the Akaedmi Fantasia star has made a plea to fans through her fan club website not to believe any rumour that she has married a Sabah minister.

“Please, please, please (I am begging here) do not believe what you have heard unless you had witnessed it with your own eyes.

“What you heard did not come from me or my family, so please ignore the stories,” she said in a message posted on www.luvs-linda.com.

The Internet may be the easiest way to relay a message but it certainly isn’t the most effective. Until Linda Nanuwil comes out in public to deny everything, the rumours are going to get wilder and wilder.

The third-placed winner of the Akademi’s second season admitted that she had heard all sorts of stories about her – the good ones as well as the gossips about her marrying a Datuk, that she was pregnant and hiding in Brunei – just because she had been out of the music scene for a while.

On Wednesday, state Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Masidi Manjum came out publicly to deny that he had married her.

The 56-year-old father of five said he received a lot of calls from friends asking about the rumours, which he flatly denied.

Masidi, who hails from the same Kadazandusun district of Ranau, at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, is chief of the Ranau Umno division, of which Linda is a Puteri Umno member.

Well, if she’s not pregnant or anything then why is she hiding? It’s only fair to explain to her fans in public. Instead she is ducking questions, embroilling herself with denials and still hasn’t tendered a believable explanation.

Yesterday, her father, Nanuwil Galida, invited The Star to their home to talk to Linda while he was at a nearby fishpond.

However, when The Star turned up at their modest brick house at Kampung Tundangan, Linda was not home. Nanuwil apologised, saying she had gone out with some cousins.

“I’m sorry I cannot contact her now and I’m not sure when she will be back,” he said, explaining that Linda had been staying with him for several days after she came back from Kuala Lumpur.

He said the gossips had made her cry, adding that she was also in tears when she read in the papers about Masidi’s denial.

Even though expectant mom Britney Spears poses nude on the cover of August’s Harper’s Bazaar, she tells the magazine that, when pregnant, “you don’t feel the most beautiful all the time.”

Spears, 24, is already mom to son Sean Preston, 10 months, and is expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline in October. In an excerpt obtained by USA Today, she admits to Bazaar that, while pregnancy is “empowering,” she felt unprepared and “paranoid” the first time.

But with “this one, I was like, I’ve just got to wing it,” she continues. “It was weird for me at first because of who I am. Wherever you go, they expect you to look a certain way. I’m not supposed to be this big huge pregnant superstar.”

On the issue of beauty, I think all Britney needs to do is fire her current stylist and hire a new one!

I don’t understand the part that pregnancy is empowering to her. Especially when the child she’s carrying belongs to Kevin Federline. That’s a potent concoction of white trashness brewing in her belly; classic imprisonment material.

She describes Sean Preston as a “rocker kid” and the inspiration for the line of baby clothes she’s designing. “Hopefully, next year we’ll have a fashion show, maybe at Disney World,” says Spears, who got her start as a Mouseketeer.

After child no. 2 is born, Spears is looking forward to getting back in shape and back to work. “After this baby,” she says, “I’m going to get really intense with it.”

She “can’t wait” to perform again, “but I really have to take my time and do it right and be safe,” she says. “Actually, not that safe. When you perform, you have to be dangerous.”

Seriously, I think any mother who has the capacity to dress their kids in Spederspawn inspired clothes has highly suspicious mentality. So Britney, I think you should just give the fook up.

She also plans to head back to the recording studio, where she hopes to collaborate with Federline, 28. “I’m so proud of Kevin,” she says. “He’s been working so hard on his own album since I got pregnant with Preston. I’m so lucky. He’s a doll; he’s adorable.”

Punk-pop princess Avril Lavigne has married a fellow Canadian singer-songwriter, according to published reports. Lavigne married Deryck Whibley, the guitarist and front man for the band Sum 41, on Saturday, at a private estate near Santa Barbara, People magazine reported on its Web site.

The young rockers had a mostly traditional ceremony, the magazine said.

The usually shabby Lavigne wore a Vera Wang gown, carried white roses and was walked down the aisle by her father as Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” played.

The pair have been dating since early 2004 and bought a house in Los Angeles later that year. They became engaged in Venice, Italy, in 2005 while Lavigne was on a European tour.

Lavigne is working on her third album and recently gave voice to the possum Heather in the film “Over the Hedge.”

Pop star Siti Nurhaliza will wed businessman Datuk Khalid Mohamed Jiwa on Aug 21.

The engagement and akad nikah ceremony will be held at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, while wedding receptions are scheduled for Aug 28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and Sep 3 in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

Siti’s parents’ 38th wedding anniversary also falls on Aug 21, Siti revealed at the press conference to announce the wedding.

Ah ha! At last….I knew Siti Nurhaliza is a homewrecker! Now that she’s gotten her wish, expect the coming news to be successful dissolation of Datuk Khalid’s previous marriage.

Adulterous couple finally summoned enough guts to take picture together

The couple have commissioned Datuk Raja Shah Rezza from Nusantara Gems as wedding planner, with the reception at the KLCC to feature a “garden wedding” concept.

Fashion designers Radzuan Radziwill, Michael Ong, Khoon Hooi, Natrah Hisham and Anana Avanti have been engaged to design the wedding costumes, which will feature traditional songket and tekat.

Makeup artistes Nurul Shukur and Mia have also been engaged for the events.

I am convinced that the wedding’s going to cost RM 5 million too….

A WHOPPING RM5mil! That would be the cost to hold the impending wedding reception of pop darling Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin and businessman Datuk Khalid Jiwa at the KL Convention Centre later this month, claimed Kosmo!

Quoting sources that touted it as the ‘Wedding of the Year,’ the tabloid said it would be held on July 29, a much earlier date than previously speculated.

The glitzy guest list, the paper said, included members of royalty and leaders from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Befitting the grand occasion, where red has been chosen by the prospective bride and groom as the theme colour of the event, the couple will ride in a horse-drawn carriage and a dazzling display of fireworks is planned.

Uma Thurman admits she was in a bad marriage with Ethan Hawke, but refuses to speak negatively about her ex.

“I cannot participate in anything critical about my children’s father,” the My Super Ex-Girlfriend star says in the upcoming issue of Parade magazine. “I just need to keep peace. I think it’s fair to say that I haven’t said one mean thing, and I’m not going to start now. It’s terrible for my family.”

The hotel heiress has imposed the ban on herself because she is convinced that abstaining from all carnal activity will help her to “rediscover” herself.

She said: “I’m doing it just because I want to. I feel I’m becoming stronger as a person.
