RADIO deejay Linda Onn was absent on the 79th Academy Awards red carpet because she was not allowed to wear the dress she wanted, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Quoting sources, the paper said some people were uncomfortable that a foreigner, Indonesian-born Jovian Mandagie, had designed and made the outfit Linda was to wear.

So, local designer Radzuan Radziwill was asked to hastily put together a dress and a Star TV official flew to Los Angeles to deliver it.

However, Linda refused to wear it and was said to have been very disappointed that she could not wear the dress she wanted.

Some Malaysians are a disgrace to the country and this includes Linda Onn. Who in their right mind would give up the chance to go to the Oscars because of a stupid dress? Well, Linda Onn did.

To be frank, I’m really not that surprised. She endorsed some Kacip Fatimah beverage for God’s sake. What the hell was she thinking?

Linda was to host a Star Movies’ programme together with Channel V presenter Dominic Lau. She withdrew from hosting the programme.

Jovian, who was contacted later, said that he and Linda had designed the kebaya and it had taken almost two weeks to complete.

Lau said Linda had lost a golden opportunity to interview top Hollywood celebrities.

It’s easy to see why “some people” are uncomfortable with Linda Onn’s dress.

Yes, she has no sense of style. Wearing a dress that is of the exact same shade of the red carpet?? Way to go, Linda Onn!

This time, no one’s playing the Trump card.

Pageant officials said Friday that former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees, who was dethroned last week after some pre-title racy photos surfaced on the Internet, will not have a second shot at the crown.

“The Miss Universe Organization has thoroughly considered the request of Ms. Katie Rees to be reinstated as Miss Nevada USA 2007,” organization president Paula Shugart said in a statement, a day after co-owner and Rosie O’Donnell nemesis Donald Trump told Extra that he was taking another look at his colleagues’ decision.

No second chance for Katie Rees! I suppose it’s understandable on the Miss Universe Organization’s part, if they were to reinstate Katie Rees that would mean they have to go back in time and reinstate all the other Miss USA or Miss Universe that were stripped off their titles for raunchy pictures, some of which pale in comparison to Katie Rees’. Case in point, Vanessa Williams.

Trump, of course, was instrumental in the choice to give Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner another go-round after the then-20-year-old was spotted drinking—and reportedly smooching Miss Teen USA Katie Blair—at a New York nightspot. The duo were also accused of sneaking men into their Trump Place apartment.

Both Conner and Blair, who was dropped by the advocacy group Mothers Against Drunk Driving as a spokesperson after it was reported she was out drinking with Miss USA, are safe for the time being, however, so long as they behave like perfect angels for the rest of their reign.

Two days after Conner’s teary mea culpa and her pledge to enter rehab, Rees, who was set to compete in the 2007 Miss USA pageant in March, was booted after officials caught a glimpse of pictures taken when the 22-year-old was partying in Tampa, Florida. The offending shots showed Rees kissing another girl, flashing one of her breasts and giving the camera a glimpse of her thong underwear.

At a news conference last Saturday, Rees apologized, pointing out how one night of poor judgment “can affect the rest of our lives.” She then asked for another chance to prove herself.

Katie Rees was caught in a much more undesirable situation. There are photo evidence, that’s the thing. And they are circulated widely! She was most searched at one time and even my site’s bandwidth was knocked out for a while due to the immense traffic, all hungry for her pictures.

“Our number one goal is to have her reinstated,” Rees’ attorney, Mario Torres III said. “Ms. Rees did not even recollect these photos were taken…The person who posted these pictures should, in some way, be held accountable.”

But apparently the Miss Universe Organization felt it had doled out enough second chances for one year.

“In light of the serious nature of the circumstances, there is no recourse but to stand by our decision,” Shugart said.

Miss Nevada first runner-up Helen Salas has assumed the title and will be the one who competes Mar. 23 in Los Angeles for the Miss USA 2007 crown.

So it’s official. Katie Rees will not be given a second chance and her successor will be Miss Nevada first runner-up Helen Salas.

A devout Christian who said an accident at work boosted his libido and wrecked his marriage as he turned to prostitutes and pornography was awarded more than 3 million pounds ($5.89 million) in damages Tuesday.

Stephen Tame, 29, from Suffolk, suffered severe head injuries in a fall, transforming him from a loyal newlywed into a “disinhibited” character who had two affairs.

He was in a coma for two months after falling from a gantry while working at a bicycle warehouse shortly after his marriage in January 2002. Doctors said it was a miracle he survived.

Awarding him 3.1 million pounds in compensation at London’s High Court, Judge Michael Harris said: “His life and the life of his young wife were shattered.”

His former employer, Professional Cycle Marketing, of Essex, had argued through their lawyers that his injuries were not as bad as suggested in court.

You know what I think? The money should be awarded solely to his wife instead.

Celebvids reported that Miss USA Tara Conner was stripped of her title few days ago. Things have taken a turn for Worse.

It’s official: Donald Trump has not fired Miss USA Tara Conner.

“I’ve always been a believer in second chances. Tara is good person. Tara has tried hard. Tara is going to be given a second chance,” Trump announced at a press conference in New York on Tuesday.

He also announced that Conner planned to enter rehab.

What the fook is happening with this world? Now we have Miss USA who goes to rehab in her reign!??? Second chance my arse, Tara is a junkie and no representative of the States should be an addict.

“In no way when I walked into the meeting with him did I think it would be possible to be given a second chance,” Conner said of her discussion with Trump. “You know what (Trump) could have said – ‘You’re fired’ – that’s what everyone expected, including me.”

Instead, Trump said that, indeed, he had expected to dismiss Conner, “but after speaking to her I saw not only a beautiful woman, but a beautiful heart. She really, really tried.”

Commenting on her problems, Trump said only, “She left a small town in Kentucky and got caught up in the whirlwind we know is New York.”

Got caught up in the whirlwind? That only goes to show what an unfit Miss USA she is. This is totally unfair to the other contestants, especially Miss Tamiko Nash. By retaining Tara Conner, Mr. Donald Trump has shown that the pageant’s adjudication is grossly flawed!

Had Conner’s crown been removed, her replacement would have been Miss California Tamiko Nash, 27, who was named runner-up to Conner at the April 21, 2006, Miss USA Pageant.

Trump discussed Conner’s behavior with PEOPLE on Monday night, saying, “It is a painful subject, and I am not at all happy about the situation. If it was at all possible, I wanted to protect Tara at what I know is a tough time for her.”

For all I know Tara Conner has probably made the moves on Trump. Young, supple, fair boobies you see. Can Trump resist?

The Drunken Master Strikes Back

An apparently intoxicated Jackie Chan disrupted a concert by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee in Hong Kong and exchanged insults with the audience, a news report said Tuesday.

Ming Pao Daily News said Chan suddenly jumped on stage at the concert Monday night and demanded a duet with Lee. He then tried to conduct the band but stopped and restarted the music several times, Ming Pao said.

Who can blame him, he’s probably itching to unleash his drunken fist since he hasn’t gotten much opportunities to do so in all his lameass movies.

As the awkward interruption dragged on, audience members started to heckle Chan and the actor replied with an insult, according to the report.

The newspaper quoted Chan as saying on stage that he was drunk.

Chan was an invited performing guest at Lee’s earlier show Sunday night.

Jonathan Lee: Hmmmm. Uhhhh..

It must had been freakin’ hilarious! Poor Jonathan Lee must had been horrified to death at that time. There was his concert as well as friendship with one of the most powerful performers in Asia to consider. He could have fooked up both of them if he took a wrong stance.

A spokesman for Chan, Solon So, said he hadn’t seen Chan since the alleged incident and had no immediate comment. He said he didn’t attend the concert.

Concert organizers didn’t immediately return a reporter’s call seeking comment.

Everyone’s probably hoping that the storm would drift away just like that. Fat chance!!!
