Radio DJ Linda Onn Is A Major Dumbass

March 1st 2007

RADIO deejay Linda Onn was absent on the 79th Academy Awards red carpet because she was not allowed to wear the dress she wanted, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Quoting sources, the paper said some people were uncomfortable that a foreigner, Indonesian-born Jovian Mandagie, had designed and made the outfit Linda was to wear.

So, local designer Radzuan Radziwill was asked to hastily put together a dress and a Star TV official flew to Los Angeles to deliver it.

However, Linda refused to wear it and was said to have been very disappointed that she could not wear the dress she wanted.

Some Malaysians are a disgrace to the country and this includes Linda Onn. Who in their right mind would give up the chance to go to the Oscars because of a stupid dress? Well, Linda Onn did.

To be frank, I’m really not that surprised. She endorsed some Kacip Fatimah beverage for God’s sake. What the hell was she thinking?

And now we know…

Linda was to host a Star Movies’ programme together with Channel V presenter Dominic Lau. She withdrew from hosting the programme.

Jovian, who was contacted later, said that he and Linda had designed the kebaya and it had taken almost two weeks to complete.

Lau said Linda had lost a golden opportunity to interview top Hollywood celebrities.

It’s easy to see why “some people” are uncomfortable with Linda Onn’s dress.

Yes, she has no sense of style. Wearing a dress that is of the exact same shade of the red carpet?? Way to go, Linda Onn!

Homegirl has absolutely no talent in fashion. Perhaps, it’s a good decision to not have her represent Malaysians at the Oscars.

Siti Nurhaliza Invited To 49th Annual Grammy Awards

February 6th 2007

Datuk Siti Nurhaliza is going to the 49th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday.

The pop icon will be the first Malaysian to be given the honour of walking up the red carpet meant for invited celebrities at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Siti will be the first Malaysian to walk up the red carpet meant for invited celebrities. Siti made it thanks to the two tickets she won as Best Dressed celebrity at Star World’s “Breakfast With the Stars” in conjunction with the 78th Annual Academy Awards last March.

Star World wrote and received permission from the Grammy organisers for Siti to walk on the red carpet along with other invited celebrities.

“Siti is very popular in this region and she deserves this honour,” said Nini Yusof, assistant vice-president of Star TV in Singapore.

LOL. So Siti Nurhaliza won two tickets to the Grammy Awards. Big fookin’ deal!

Aside from being first Malaysian to walk up the Grammy’s red carpet, she is also the first Malaysian to have big ass flop of a concert at Royal Albert Hall.

I can safely say that the result of Star World’s “Breakfast With the Stars” was fixed. Siti Nurhaliza wore this hideous thing for God’s sake! How can she win “Best Dressed”!? Somebody else is more deserving of the award, obviously.

Best dressed!? No way!!!

Siti Nurhaliza is only a proof of mass delusion. She can’t sing, she can’t dance, she has the body of a whale and she got married to an old croak. Yucks!

“I told her that she would walk on the red carpet last Sunday and she was so thrilled.”

Siti, who will be accompanied by her husband Datuk Khalid Mohd Jiwa, said: “I am so elated. Being able to attend the Grammys is good enough for me, what more walking on the red carpet.”

Siti will be wearing a black and white kebaya that Malaysian designer Bernard Chandran will tailor for her from Chanel material she bought in London.

“It’s another dream come true for me to be there with all the big names,” she said.

Nini said if Siti’s dress stood out, “she might attract the international paparazzi. We hope that happens. We are giving her the platform as she is a big icon in this part of the world.”

Black and white kebaya? LOL. Yeah for sure she will stand the bleedin’ out! For being the worst dressed, what were you thinking?

Even plastic surgery won’t help Siti Nurhaliza.

G = Gargantuan Arse for Siti Nurhaliza

January 12th 2007

Siti Nurhaliza is a whale, and from now on there’s no more doubt about it. Many have disputed my statement, and today I can finally prove it, that she’s indeed the size of a whale…..

G FOR GARGANTUAN ARSE

This is Siti Nurhaliza on her way to Grammy’s. I hope her black and white kebaya won’t burst.

Siti Nurhaliza rupa macam ikan paus! Hahahahahhaha

The Oscar Winners Lineup Part Two

March 26th 2006

Best Actress
Reese Witherspoon, Walk the Line

All the hype sure didn’t go to waste. Girl’s versatile and I’ll prove it to you in an upcoming post.

Best Actor
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Capote

What the fook? This should be Joaquin Phoenix’s night! Fooker’s good I’ll give it to him, but Phoenix is too delicious looking to be ignored!

Cinematography

Memoirs of a Geisha

Bad choice! The movie screams low budget, not good cinematography.

Best Picture
Crash

And the winner is the underdog! The movie that makes you want to take a look at yourself and ask why, why not and what for. Honestly, didn’t expect it to win, seeing only Walk the Line and Brokeback Mountain were being speculated most of the time. But hey the setting is appropriate, the message is arrow-straight and the movie…the movie is great.

Best Director
Ang Lee, Brokeback Mountain

Well, I’ve always thought that the director of the Best Picture should win Best Director award but what the hell, Ang Lee’s a chink. Power to the chinks.

Best Adapted Screenplay
Brokeback Mountain

Seriously, how difficult it is to make a movie out of the story of two gay cowboys?

Best Original Screenplay
Crash

Again, right setting, right message, good acting, yadda yadda.

And there ladies and gentlemen, a wrap-up to Oscar Winners Lineup.

Like every other year, there’re deserving and undeserving winners, however I’m glad to say that the former outnumbered the latter this year. My main conundrum is Memoirs of Geisha. It’s not a bad movie really, but I don’t think it deserves to be nominated for any Oscar. I secrety vouched for Crash but didn’t think it’d make a splash however I’m glad I’m proven wrong.

Siti Nurhaliza Won Best Dressed Award, Not Kidding

March 7th 2006

Saving the best for last, the Best Dressed Award for the morning was announced after the live telecast was over. The award went to songbird Siti Nurhaliza.

Siti was dressed in a dazzling mermaid- cut dress by designer Radzuan Radziwill.

She won a trip for two to the 49th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next year, Giorgio Armani products worth RM3,000 and a Nikon camera worth RM1,468.

The girl who tried to pass off carpet as poncho won the Best Dressed Award?

Best dressed!?

Which part of this dress looks mermaid-esque to you?

You must be fookin’ with me. When I see that thing Siti Nurhaliza is wearing, I’m instantly reminded of Princess Fiona.

Princess Fiona

See the uncanny resemblance?

Princess Fiona is fat, ugly and famous too.

The Oscar Winners Lineup Part One

March 6th 2006

Best Supporting Actress
Rachel Weisz, The Constant Gardener

Rachel Weisz has always reminded me of Kate Winslet. She looks like her and she can act. So yes, she deserves this.

Best Supporting Actor
George Clooney, Syriana

I’m not really sure. He’s good, but is he Oscar worthy? It’s been a trend for actors who deliberately changed their physiques to win the Oscars. Cases in point, Nicole Kidman (prosthetic nose), Charlize Theron (got fat), Hilary Swank (got bleedin’ toned) and Adrien Brody (got anorexic).

Visual Effects
King Kong

Oh yes, if a computer generated monster ape could move your emotions, I’d say it’s got it.

Animated Feature
Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

The whole movie is made up of fookin’ clay. And it’s funny shit. So moving clay and humour = Oscar? Yes.

Short Film (Live Action)
Six Shooter

Whatever. I’m not bothered.

Short Film (Animated)
The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation

Whatever. I’m not bothered with this either.

Costume Design
Memoirs of a Geisha

Idiotic choice, I’d say. Memoirs of Geisha is a semi-biographical period movie. I’d expect the costumes to be replications of fashion then. Didn’t think there were much creative juices churned during the costume design.

Makeup
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Fantastic choice for Oscar. The kids actually looked like they belonged in that era. Tilda Swinton was scary.

Documentary Feature
March of the Penguins

Never watched the show. Wouldn’t know. Wish it were about Dubya instead of penguins.

Documentary Short

A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin

Corwin who? Should have been about Dubya.

Art Direction
Memoirs of a Geisha

Well maybe. Doesn’t even come close to Moulin Rouge, though.

Music (Score)
Brokeback Mountain

Aight, I’ll check it out on my dvd player tonight. Will get back to you.

Sound Mixing
King Kong

Another spot-on. Not surprising since it’s predecessor revolutionised sound mixing anyway.

Music (Song)
“It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” – Hustle & Flow

It’s hard out here for my ears.

Sound Editing
King Kong

What is the relevance of this award, or sound mixing in this case?

Foreign Language Film
Tsotsi

Out of bounds, I’m not foreign.

Film Editing
Crash

Oh yes. Never have I watched such an incredibly chopped up movie that makes so much sense. There certainly isn’t any “blaking” for this movie.

More later!
