Mawi Worth RM4000? You’re Kidding Me

May 2nd 2006

For Mawi fans Sharifah Rohani Syed Ismaon and her teenage daughter Wan Nurul Ain Othman, RM4,000 is a small sum to pay to have a short “vacation” with their idol.

Even if this means they only get to spend a few minutes with the Akademi Fantasia 3 winner.

But that is more than enough for Sharifah Rohani, 50, and Wan Nurul Ain, 16.

Mawi being mobbed by fans at the airport in Brunei recently.
Mother and daughter had paid for their own expenses – about RM2,000 each – to join Mawi and Gemilang Bersama Bintang Popular contest winners on a three-day trip to Brunei recently.

RM 4000 for a couple of minutes with Mawi? Well, it’s understandable considering the fact that it’s a 16 year old we’re talking about. But damn, her mother’s in it too. Do stupid genes run in the family? Yes, I think they do.

Mawi The Mistake

Knowing how busy Mawi was, Sharifah Rohani and Wan Nurul Ain were content with watching him from far.

“I don’t feel the same way about the past winners of AF1 and AF2. I didn’t even buy their CDs. With Mawi, however, I bought CDs for the house and for each room and car. I think he sounds like Jamal Abdillah,” said Sharifah Rohani, a Telekom Malaysia property operations executive in Pekan, Pahang.

She added that Mawi looked the same in real life.

Mawi sounds like Jamal Abdillah? She must be fooking joking! Mawi sounds like a donkey with a sore throat. And yes, a healthy donkey definitely sounds way better than him.

“My advice to Mawi is to be yourself and turn a deaf ear to gossips about Diana. It has often been repeated. As fans, we only read once (about it). When the news is repeated, we are not bothered. It only adds pressure on him.”

She also said Mawi had a lot to learn. “He has to polish his PR skills. He has to watch the way he walks.

“Maybe his legs were not wrapped properly when he was a baby.”

While she did not expect Mawi to change completely, she urged him to try to improve himself.

“What we want is for him to maintain and not change his heart and intention,” she said.

She was confident that Akademi Fantasia 4 stars would not affect Mawi’s popularity.

Is it just me or is it weird that she’s making comments about his legs and the way he walks? Maybe she was dropped on the head when she was a baby.

I really can’t stand all this shit about his “heart and intention”. He’s supposed to be an entertainer for fook’s sake. Not a bleedin’ preacher. Not your bleedin’ son. Sheesh, another outright display of stupidity by delusional Malaysians.

Mawi Denies Having The Hots For Diana Rafar

March 27th 2006

What started out as a seemingly innocent fishing trip has become a hot potato for singing sensation Mawi and fellow artiste Diana Rafar.

The Malay media have gone to town with the story, implying that the “romantic liaison” has resulted in a love triangle.

To end the rumours, Mawi whose real name is Asnawi Ani, has offered to apologise to Diana and her actor boyfriend Zamarul Hisham.

Mistake Mawi, heartbreaker wannabe?

This mistake called Mawi obviously has some form of affection for Diana Rafar (sister to the controversial Linda Rafar). I think fame has gone to his head and he thinks that Diana Rafar would definitely fall head over heels for him or something. The thing is, Mawi……you’re ugly, untalented and unrefined. Any girl worth her salt knows that your fame will not last.

Mawi found himself the subject of controversy after he spoke in detail about a fishing trip with Diana last month.

He had told the press that he personally delivered four catfish that he caught to Diana’s mother in Shah Alam, requesting her to turn them into an asam pedas dish.

His fans demanded the “truth” from the couple, and some even sent them nasty and threatening SMS.

Mawi described Diana as “just a friend”. He added that he had not spoken to her for two months.

Fishing trip? LOL. What are you trying to prove, Mawi? Don’t think he had expected to fall flat on his face. Deliver fish to some chick’s mother eh, if that’s not trying to win someone’s heart or anger someone’s fiance then what is?

Mawi’s fiancée Nordiana Mohd Naim was reportedly upset and felt Diana owed her an explanation.

“Diana should be open with me. I want to know what really happened,” the kampung lass was quoted as saying.

In another report, Diana said she wanted her name cleared and suggested that Mawi tie the knot with his fiancée.

Zamarul, 35, who won the Best Actor 2004 award in Anugerah Bintang Popular, was quoted as saying he doubted Mawi’s sincerity, saying he should have sent the fish to Nordiana instead. He also questioned why Mawi sent an SMS to Diana at 4am.

Did Diana Rafar betray Zamarul Hisham for Mistake Mawi?

There’s an old saying, if there’s no fire there won’t be smoke. I believe Mawi thinks he’s a step ahead of Zamarul hence the underhanded tactics to win Diana Rafar’s heart. Too immature, Mawi, too stupid.

Asked about his wedding plans, Mawi remained non-committal.

“When the time comes, I will get married but I don’t know when,” he replied.

Maestro Talent and Management chief executive officer Freddie Fernandez is said to be initiating a “peace talk” for Zamarul, Mawi and Diana.

Peace talk? Why such a big deal if it really was just a silly misunderstanding? Lets just say I don’t think Mawi will marry his fiancee from his hometown. Then again, it remains a mystery of whether Mawi impregnated Siti Nurhaliza.
